Feedback from the rough cut

After finishing the rough cut, me and my group noticed many problems with the music video, and were not happy with the way it looked, especially with the footage that we had used to make the video was not very good and didnt have that many different shot types. This caused our group to then re film many scenes of the music video, as many of our shots were slightly shakey, or where hard to lip sync to the soundtrack. During the re edit of our music video we added in all the new tracks, replaced one of the characters with somebody eles who we thought would be better suited to fit the 'homeless person look'. Other changes that had to be made after feedback from our rough cut included shortening the begining scene as it dragged on too long, along with adding in effects such as fades, cross disolves, sepia and gamma tones.

Feedback from Other students and our teacher:
  • re-edit the rough cut but with the new footage in place
  • shorten the opening sequence where you set the context
  • add in transitions and think about possibly destaurating the beginning and end so you are playing with the idea of dreams - black and white (? obvious I know but just a suggestion) for reality and colour for the dream
  • use a wider variety of shot types
