Do's and Don't's

A Digipak has to follow the certain rules of do's and don't's. So before designing anything, a read of the do's and don't's list is necessary.

Do...
  • use a clear and readable font
  • use appropriate images
  • use the appropriate font and images which relates to the genre
  • use the appropriate sizes for the font and images
  • use the rule of thirds for composition for photographs
  • make sure the images and the font are clear from a distance
  • position images and font appropriately with careful consideration
  • make sure the appropriate industry logos and conventions are present and properly positioned: barcode, copyright, title, artist name, record label and websites.
Don't...
  • use unnecessary effects
  • use layer styles
  • stretch images as they would turn out pixelated, messy and unattractive
  • use a lot of different fonts
  • use a font simply because you 'like it'
