A Digipak has to follow the certain rules of do's and don't's. So before designing anything, a read of the do's and don't's list is necessary.
Do...
- use a clear and readable font
- use appropriate images
- use the appropriate font and images which relates to the genre
- use the appropriate sizes for the font and images
- use the rule of thirds for composition for photographs
- make sure the images and the font are clear from a distance
- position images and font appropriately with careful consideration
- make sure the appropriate industry logos and conventions are present and properly positioned: barcode, copyright, title, artist name, record label and websites.
- use unnecessary effects
- use layer styles
- stretch images as they would turn out pixelated, messy and unattractive
- use a lot of different fonts
- use a font simply because you 'like it'
